John Oliver, You’re Wrong on Vaccines

Categories

Hard hitting, cutting edge, humorously deflating the pompous special interests, giving us badly needed information that the regular media outlets do not, John Oliver, your June 25th, 2017 rant on vaccines was none of those things.

Instead, you told us all to go back to sleep: “Don’t question, do as you are told folks, all is well.”

How much pro-vaccine propaganda could you pack into one show? And all of it so horribly incorrect! Did big pharma re-program your brain?

I suspect the real reason you did this report in this manner was very personal and you alluded to it at the end of the show – and I’ll mention it at the end of this article.

I wish I were exaggerating. From a script that could have been jointly written by the CDC, Merck Pharmaceuticals and the American Medical Association we hear this pap: “Vaccines are one of humanity’s most incredible accomplishments.”

Well, that’s sorta true. It is incredible that this medical procedure, repeatedly proven to be useless and dangerous, still gets fawning people to rave about it in spite of all the contrary evidence. That truly is an incredible accomplishment.

“Saved millions of lives.” Well, I guess if you say it enough times you’ll begin to believe it but the facts say otherwise. Vaccines have killed and injured millions of children and have not saved lives.

At the risk of confusing you with facts John, please look at this graph – deaths from smallpox, diphtheria, whooping cough (pertussis) and measles – all major killers in the early 1900s – dropped to almost zero before vaccination. Even though the deaths decreased before vaccination (look at the graph), vaccines got the credit. But oops! Scarlet fever deaths also dropped to almost zero – yet there was no vaccine for scarlet fever. How could that happen if vaccines saved millions of lives? Where?

(Vital Statistics of the United States 1937, 1938, 1943, 1944, 1949, 1960, 1967, 1976, 1987, 1992; Historical Statistics of the United States— Colonial Times to 1970 Part 1; Health, United States, 2004, US Department of Health and Human Services; Vital Records & Health Data Development Section, Michigan Department of Community Health; US Census Bureau, Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2003; Reported Cases and Deaths from Vaccine Preventable Diseases, United States, 1950–2008)
http://vaxinfostarthere.com/did-vaccines-save-us/

It has nothing to do with the vaccines. The answer is far less exotic: hot and cold running water, waste disposal, clean water, better nutrition, less crowding – that’s why the death rate dropped before vaccination.

All kinds of diseases are a problem in backward countries no matter how many vaccines are given. Vaccines don’t work and John Oliver, you’re no vaccine expert.

Minuscule Risks?

Then Mr. Oliver, you say this: “The benefits of vaccines far outweigh the minuscule risks.”

Miniscule risks? John, did you know the U.S. government has paid out $3.6 billion to parents for their children’s vaccine deaths and injuries? If a vaccine kills your child you get $250K. How many deaths go into one billion?

Sadly, $3.6 billion is a tenth or even a hundredth of what should be paid out because most M.D.s (over 90%) do not report vaccine injuries nor tell parents if their child were injured or killed by a vaccine. There are many kids with all kinds of issues (not many are aware and recognize the relationship to the vaccines they received).

Since M.D.s don’t report vaccine injury, guess what? There isn’t any! It’s the old “If I don’t see you, you’re not there” syndrome.

As if that weren’t bad enough, most parents don’t even know there is a government department where they can seek damages. Instead, they just watch their once perfectly healthy children change after receiving vaccines. They disappear into autism, have uncontrollable seizures, suffer severe gastrointestinal pain, stop learning, regress, become uncontrollable or are just different. Their families must bear the burden of the cost. The cost of raising one autistic child? One million dollars. Insurance doesn’t pay for it and the government won’t acknowledge it.

HBO’s John Oliver, I ask you, that’s “miniscule?”

Autism

The government funded studies designed to prove vaccines aren’t related to autism. One study, pure junk science when analyzed by real researchers, was done in Denmark where the lead researcher is now on the lam for fraud. Despite this, his research is still cited by the CDC.

Madsen MK, Hviid A, Vestergaard M, Schendel D, Wohlfahrt J, Thorsen P, Olsen J & Melbye M. A population based study of measles, mumps and rubella vaccination and autism. New England Journal of Medicine. 2002;347(19):1477-1482. http://vaccinepapers.org/wp-content/uploads/Madsen2002NEJM.pdf)

The other study was done in the U.S. where a CDC whistleblower says they fudged the data to make the vaccines appear safe. A reworking of the correct data, which the researcher kept while the other copies were destroyed by his co-workers, showed the vaccine–autism link quite clearly.

DeStefano F, Bhasin TK, Thompson WW, Yeargin-Allsopp M, Boyle C. Age at first Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccination in children with autism and school-matched control subjects: a population-based study in metropolitan Atlanta. Pediatrics. February 2004,113(2):259-266.

Based on those fraudulent studies, 5,000 cases brought by parents claiming autism related to the vaccines their children received were thrown out of court. The government saved a lot of money not paying out damages as a result.

Yes John, it’s called junk science, or as the media likes to call it – fake science.

But you didn’t look beneath the surface for the real story, you just repeated government and pharmaceutical lies.

Living with Vaccine Injury

Vaccines are linked to autism, ADD, asthma, stuttering, allergies, hearing and vision problems, seizures, diabetes, neurological disorders, brain/mental disorders and death – the list is long and all you need to do is go to an elementary school and dare eat a peanut and see how vaccines have disrupted our lives. They no longer give peanuts on planes. I miss my peanuts.

But What About Polio?

Dr. Alton Ochsner, one of the most prominent doctors in New Orleans, to demonstrate that the Salk polio vaccine was safe, inoculated his 30-month-old grandchild Eugene Allen Davis, Jr. The child died eight days later of infantile paralysis. His granddaughter contracted polio but survived.

Reading Eagle, Reading Pennsylvania, May 5, 1955.

It is commonly believed that the Salk vaccine was responsible for halting the polio epidemics that plagued American children in the 1940s and 1950s. If so, why did the epidemics end in Europe, where polio vaccine was not so extensively used?

Robert Mendelsohn, M.D., How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of Your Doctor. Chicago: Contemporary Books, 1984.

When it comes to polio don’t get me started. Jonas Salk’s famous vaccine was pulled from the market because it caused dramatic increases in polio. You forgot to mention that.

Peterson LJ, Benson WW & Graeber FO. Vaccination-induced poliomyelitis in Idaho: preliminary report of experience with Salk poliomyelitis vaccine. JAMA. 1955;159(4):241-244.

In U.S. Congressional hearings, Dr. Bernard Greenberg, head of the Dept. of Biostatistics for the University of North Carolina School of Public Health, testified that polio increased substantially after vaccinations but that the statistics were deliberately manipulated by the Public Health Service to give the opposite impression.

Intensive Immunization Programs, Hearings before the Committee on Interstate & Foreign Commerce, House of Representatives, 87th Congress, 2nd Session on H.R. 10541, Washington DC: US Government Printing Office, 1962; pp. 96-97.

You somehow forgot to mention that by the time Salk’s vaccine was introduced in America in 1955, polio was a third of what it had been in 1952, due to legislative restrictions on the use of pesticides. DDT and other toxins were discovered to be the cause of infantile paralysis not some mysterious virus.

You also didn’t mention that the polio vaccine was contaminated with monkey virus, SV 40, that, when injected into laboratory animals, caused cancer. It was discovered by a U.S. government scientist, Bernice Eddy, before the vaccine was injected into millions of children. Her bosses told her she’d lose her job if she reported her findings. Laboratories world-wide have confirmed the polio vaccine link to brain, bone and lung lining cancer in children and they are increasing at alarming rates.

But on top of it all, the polio virus was never isolated! That means it was never proven that a virus caused polio. The entire polio campaign was a fiasco.

People Lined Up for the Polio Shot?

Is it true that people lined up for the polio shot? Yes, but apparently not the people who were in the know. Robert S. Allen, Washington correspondent, reported in the New York Post, June 8, 1955: “Doctors and others on the staff of the National Institute of Health are not inoculating their own children with the Salk Vaccine.”

Robert S. Allen, Washington correspondent, New York Post, June 8, 1955.

They were wise to keep their families vaccine-free. The polio vaccine campaign resulted in 40,000 cases of polio, paralyzed 200 children (most paralyzed for life) and left 10 dead.

Fitzpatrick M. The Cutter incident: How America’s first polio vaccine led to the growing vaccine crisis. J R Soc Med. 2006;99(3):156.

A young girl named Susan Pierce was the first of the deaths reported. She received the vaccine on April 18, 1955. Five days later, she developed fever and neck stiffness. Six days later, her left arm was paralyzed. Seven days later, she was placed in an iron lung, and nine days later, she was dead.

There’s So Much Misinformation Here…

Apart from some dumb jokes, pot shots at President Trump (somehow you just had to work that in), and making fun of concerned parents, it would take at least the 27 minutes of your rant to cover all the lies and misinformation you gave us.

Measles in Somali Communities

Why did Somali parents stop vaccinating their children in America? That reason is conveniently ignored in your rant, Mr. Oliver, although it was well known and written up. It’s because of the high rate of autism in their community. By the way, autism was unknown where they came from; they didn’t have a name for it. But come to America, get your kids their shots and, “hello autism.”

The parents decided they had a choice. Let the kid have measles for a few days, an almost 100% benign condition, or autism for life. What would you choose?

The medical texts always referred to measles as a benign, natural, rite of passage that left a stronger and healthier child in its wake. But after the vaccine came on the market measles suddenly became a killer.

So, John Oliver, why don’t you say that any children died or were even hospitalized during the measles epidemic? Simple. Because they weren’t. Same with the measles epidemic in Disneyland. Everyone got better and got permanent immunity as a result.

Disneyland Measles Epidemic

In the summer of 2015 a measles epidemic appeared in Disneyland, “The happiest place on earth.” How bad was it? In a nation of over 300 million, 147 people were diagnosed with measles.

Some epidemic. When I was a kid in Brooklyn that number of cases could show up in my neighborhood in one season and no one would bat an eye.

On top of that at least 86% of those who caught measles were up to date on their vaccinations.

 http://www.californiahealthline.org

As expected everyone recovered without incident.

Comparing Body Counts

When you compare death rates from those having natural measles with the death rate from the measles shot you discover it’s far, far safer to get the measles than the measles shot.

For example, Dr. Anne Schuchat, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, in an April 25, 2014 Associated Press interview stated that there have been no measles deaths in the US since 2003.

http://vaccineimpact.com/2015/zero-u-s-measles-deaths-in-10-years-but-over-100-measles-vaccine-deaths-reported/#sthash.jsHvonAX.dpuf

At the same time the U.S. government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System or VAERS reported 108 children died from the measles vaccine during a ten-year period.

Your choice John: natural measles (which is actually beneficial for the developing immune system) or the vaccine?

L’affair Wakefield

The magnitude of the effort to discredit him [Wakefield] betrays a strong fear that his suggestion of a link to vaccination may be correct. Richard Deth, Ph.D.

British gastroenterologist Andrew Wakefield, M.D. shook up the vaccine world with his 1998 paper in The Lancet, a medical journal, in which he merely repeated parents’ assertion that their children descended into autism (and chronic gastrointestinal pain) after receiving an MMR vaccine.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield, a respected researcher who authored or co-authored more than 140 papers published in peer reviewed scientific journals, suddenly found himself in hot water. He was forced to resign from the London Free Hospital and his license was revoked.

What did he do that got him into so much trouble? He listened.

This Is What Really Happened

The parents of 12 children who were suffering from gastrointestinal and bowel pain who were also autistic told him that their children were developing normally until they received the MMR shot. They were frustrated that none of the doctors they had brought their child to ever listened to them. Dr. Wakefield listened. He repeated their observation in The Lancet clinical report.

The article was not a randomized clinical trial but rather an observational report. The article did not even say the MMR vaccine caused autism. It called for further research.

That was too much for the medical/pharmaceutical complex that has zero tolerance for even the hint of questioning vaccinations. Wakefield was charged with scientific fraud, that he had made up his research, and his license to practice was removed.

The charge that he made up this research was ridiculous at the start since before and after his article was published researchers all over the world reported the same observations in patients.

But a series of anti-Wakefield articles appeared in the London Sunday Times, which is owned by the Murdoch family that is coincidentally heavily invested in GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Europe’s only manufacturer of MMR. One of the Murdoch family is on GSK’s board of directors.

Wakefield did not back down and after losing his license to practice medicine moved to the U.S. to continue his work.

Exoneration

Wakefield was de facto exonerated of all charges of scientific fraud and dishonesty when one of his co-authors, Dr. Walker-Smith, who had also lost his license along with Wakefield, sued Britain’s General Medical Council Panel.

On June 8, 2016, the judge decided:

There was distortion of evidence, inadequate analysis, inadequate and superficial reasoning and explanation, inappropriate rejection of evidence, ‘flawed’ and ‘wrong’ reasoning, and ‘numerous and significant universal inadequacies’…. [These are] fundamental errors…[that] go to the heart of the case. They are not curable. The panel’s determination cannot stand…the finding of serious professional misconduct and the sanction of erasure are both quashed.

In court, it was revealed that there were no actual complainants, no harm came to the children who were studied, and parents supported Walker-Smith and Wakefield through the trial, reporting that their children had benefited from the treatment they received.

Walker-Smith’s license was restored. Dr. Wakefield was not also rewarded his license because his insurance company refused to cover his legal fees.

John Oliver

Autism causes behavior problems – in doctors. Andrew Wakefield, M.D.

Dr. Wakefield’s tongue-in-cheek observation should also include entertainers such as you, John Oliver. Thanks for contributing nothing to the debate John, except the status quo. Did you even do any research on this topic at all? Wow, isn’t Mr. Oliver courageous, hiding behind pharmaceutical and medical lies. What would you call his reporting – fake comedy? Or simply hypocrisy?

Where Was Herd Immunity? Outbreaks in Highly Vaccinated Populations Are Common

When I was beginning to research vaccinations in 1991, news reports of a massive measles epidemic were reported at nearby Rutgers University in New Jersey. I called the Rutgers health department and spoke to a helpful nurse. I told her I was researching vaccination epidemiology (it was true, but I didn’t tell her I was a spy).

“How many students got measles?” I asked.

“Exactly one hundred,” was her answer.

“How many of them were fully vaccinated?” I asked.

“Exactly one hundred,” was her response.

The Rutgers response to this vaccine failure was to demand that all 35,000+ students, teachers and staff get a measles shot or “they will be barred from classes and dining halls and will be asked to leave campus.”

New York Times. NY/Region. March 28, 1994. http://www.nytimes.com/1994/03/28/nyregion/rutgers-orders-measles-shots-after-outbreak.html

This is not uncommon; outbreaks in highly vaccinated populations have been reported for decades in the biomedical (and government) literature. Rather than admit that vaccines do not prevent disease outbreaks, health authorities continue to recommend more of the same.

The Amish

For many years, I cared for Amish families in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The vast majority of Amish refuse vaccination. In fact, the only chronically ill Amish I ever met had received their recommended vaccines.

But more than my limited experience, an article in the Journal of Infectious Disease reported a single case of measles between 1970 and 1987 in the Amish communities. Where was herd immunity?

At the same time, their nonAmish highlyvaccinated neighbors still reported regular measles epidemics every two or three years. Where was herd immunity?

The Amish benefit another way with less immunization; they report far less autism and other vaccine-related illnesses.

Sutter RW, Markowitz LE, Bennetch JM, Morris W, Zell ER, Preblud SR. Measles among the Amish: a comparative study of measles severity in primary and secondary cases in households. J Infect Dis. 1991 Jan;163(1):12-16.

Vaccinated Children Are Sicker

So now we’re looking at a generation of children who are very sick. Studies are now showing that vaccinated children are sicker than non-vaccinated children with more allergies, chronic illness, neurological diseases and immunological diseases amongst the vaccinated.

It’s ironic because parents vaccinate to have healthier children – and that is exactly the opposite of what they get. Here is one such article that appeared in the Journal of Translational Science showing that non-vaccinated children are healthier than vaccinated children. You can go online and read it for yourself.

“Half of All Children Will Be Autistic”

I’ve watched the rate of autism skyrocket…one in 150, one in 100, one in 88, and the most recent numbers, in March of 2013, one in 50…twenty years from now every other child (80% of the boys) in this country today will be diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Stephanie Seneff, Ph.D., research scientist at M.I.T.

Covering the Graves

Mr. Oliver, your dumb jokes, personal attacks and cherry-picked research papers cannot paper over the vaccine-related deaths and injuries.

All you do, Mr. Oliver, is repeat medical mantras, but you cannot stop the autistic children from coming or Crib Death (SIDS – a euphemism for vaccine death) from happening.

Don’t Vaccinate

As shown in the study in the Journal of Translational Science above, non-vaccinated children are far healthier than vaccinated children. In other words, vaccinated children are sicker than non-vaccinated children. There is no health benefit to vaccination; there is only financial benefit to the vaccinators and the stockholders.

Vaccination is a dangerous 18th century medical procedure that should have gone the way of bloodletting, cauterization, leeching and other dangerous toxic remedies. Vaccination has created a generation of sick children.

When parents ask me if they should vaccinate their child against measles and mumps etc. I tell them to wait, until the child is at least 40. When it comes to drugs such as vaccines, just say no thank you.

Last Words to John Oliver

So, HBO’s John Oliver, what would you say to all the parents who say their child was normal until they were vaccinated? It’s all coincidence? In hundreds of thousands of children? That’s a helluva lotta coincidences. But in all fairness to you, that’s what the medical profession and drug companies tell us.

You’ve just repeated lies, not looked carefully at this issue, and you have unwittingly played a part in the future damage of many babies – go back to an area you are an expert in, whatever that is.

Why did you broadcast such a distorted report? I think you told us. At the end of the show you revealed that after a difficult birth your child was born premature. I believe that your rant was all about your justification for your actions towards your baby. For your family and your child’s sake, I hope he isn’t one of the terrible vaccine statistics we’ve discussed. If the unthinkable does occur (and we hope it does not) at least you’ll have enough money to care for him properly, unlike so many others.

If he does have health issues such as allergies, asthma, learning problems, ear infections, vision or hearing issues, neurological or immunological problems and so many other conditions linked to vaccination I’m sure you’ll justify it by letting us know such problems are common in children today. You will be correct.

My congratulations to Dr. Koren for a very well thought out, scientifically documented and logically presented article.

Every good parent wants the best for their child,. Would you agree? But figuring out what is the best for the child is the tricky part. With all of the misinformation clouding the truth, the general public has a hard time separating fact from fiction.

If they were given all of the well substantiated facts in this article, they could make a more scientifically based decision as what procedures to do and not to do for their children’s health.

For example, the odds of a child dying from measles is almost non-existent, as compared to the odds of dying from a side effect of the measles vaccine. If a parent knew that one fact, why then would they ever agree to roll the dice with their child’s life and have their child get a measles vaccination?

“Informed Consent” should be renamed “Uniformed Consent”, since vital information is being withheld. If parents knew the facts, they would not be so apt to tell their child to “Roll up your sleeve and take your medicine”!

Life is a game of Russian Roulette. Everything that we do or don’t do, statistically can go one way or another. That is why we should try to play the odds and make the best statistical decision.

So why should a parent agree to having know neurotoxins injected into their child, in an attempt to make them healthier? Why not ask a lemming?

As a physician I have seen autism caused by vaccines with my own eyes.. It’s very sad for the child but also the poor parent who basically lost their lives by needing to care for a handicapped child for the rest of their lives..
